Dr. Susan

Dr. Susan Campolongo

DVM

Dr. Susan Campolongo graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1982 and has spent decades caring for pets throughout Markham and surrounding communities. She grew up in Guelph and now lives in Stouffville with her German Shepherd, Sheriff. Dr. Campolongo is passionate about preventive health care, surgery, wellness care, and supporting animal rescue efforts throughout the community. Outside the clinic, she enjoys tennis, swimming, gardening, crafts, and music.

Katherine

Katherine Gauthier

Animal Health Technician

Katherine has worked as a veterinary technician for more than 25 years after returning to school to pursue her passion for animal care. She lives in Richmond Hill with her two ginger cats, Ronan and Gatsby, and enjoys swimming, horseback riding, crafts, and spending time with family and pets.

Kelly Phan - Receptionist

Receptionist

Kelly joined Rouge River Animal Hospital in 2024 after graduating from Sheridan College’s Animal Care Program. Born and raised in Toronto, she hopes to become an RVT and enjoys helping pets and their owners feel comfortable during visits. Outside the clinic, she enjoys music and spending time with animals.

Kelly is starting Vet Tech school in the fall 2026.

Vanessa

Receptionist - Animal Care Attendant

Vanessa is currently studying to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, building on her previous experience working in a grooming salon. Her love for animals extends beyond the workplace, as she shares her home with her two adopted bunnies. She enjoys getting to know each animal’s unique personality and believes that patience, compassion, and a gentle approach can make all the difference. She looks forward to continuing her journey in veterinary medicine and helping animals feel their very best.

Ashley Quan - Animal Care Attendant

Ashley first joined Rouge River Animal Hospital as a co-op student in 2011 and continues supporting the team part-time. She attended the science program at the University of Prince Edward Island and shares her home with three dogs — Ginseng, Daisy, and Luka — along with her cat, Hero.

Jessica studied psychology at York University before discovering her passion for working with pets and their families. She enjoys building relationships with clients while balancing family life, volunteer work, and caring for many different pets over the years.

Jennifer joined the clinic through her high school co-op program in 2020 and has continued growing with the Rouge River Animal Hospital team ever since. She currently studies at the University of Toronto and enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Miles.

Having grown up in a family that always had dogs present, Katie’s love for animals was immediate. Soon after graduating high school, she moved into animal grooming, and not long after into animal health care. She feels the greatest joy in life is nursing sick pet patients back to health, reassuring owners and showing puppies and kittens that veterinary care isn’t scary.

Raised on her family’s farm in the Philippines, Raeann developed a lifelong appreciation for animals from an early age. She currently studies kinesiology and health science at York University while continuing her work in veterinary care.

Emma enjoys being part of a team that shares her passion for animal care. She graduated from Durham College’s Animal Care program in 2025.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll often find her spending time with her dog, Koda, and her crested gecko, Matcha, or out on a nature adventure.

Olivia

Animal Care Attendant

Olivia previously worked at PetSmart and interned at The Toronto Wildlife Center, and she has a passion for taking care of animals. Olivia is studying Animal Biology and would like to one day pursue a career as a DVM. When she is not working or studying, she is taking care of her two dogs, Max and Frankie. Olivia enjoys hiking and swimming with Max, or knitting while cuddling with Frankie.

Kenzi has been part of Rouge River Animal Hospital since 2013 and is known for greeting visitors from her favourite warm spot near the front desk printer. This one-eyed senior cat enjoys attention from staff and clients alike.
