Sunday Sept 14 is the Terry Fox Run in support of cancer research across Canada. This July I attended the national veterinary conference in St. John’s Newfoundland where there is a memorial of Terry Fox and his marathon of hope across Canada that we know was cut short due to his cancer and he eventually passed away. The memorial is very moving and symbolizes what Terry stood for. This photo is taken at the site where there is a large statue of Terry. Cancer affects all of us and almost 30% of dogs in their lifetime. We need to do our part to support ongoing research in the hope of taking one bite at a time out of cancer. Summer and I will be walking in Stouffville where we live. You can pledge us on line at www.terryfox.org and locating myself. Better still, why not walk with your pet to support this great cause. There is always treats handed out to the 2 legged walkers and this year treats will also be handed out to our 4 legged furry friends on behalf of our hospital. See you there.
